Christoph Hensch![]() I worked in banking in Switzerland and administration and logistical support for humanitarian aid projects in countries like Afghanistan, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Somalia, Russia, Nicaragua and Iran. I have also explored intentional community life and visited many ecovillages in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. It brought me to the realisation that it is our economic system that dictates our behaviour in how we relate to the environment and the planet but also how we relate to our fellow human beings. The current money system is one of the core 'engines' of the economy and dictates the final bottom line. In order to be able to live sustainably on this planet, we need a sustainable money system. And we need an Economy As If All Life Mattered! I'm a board member of New Zealand's Living Economies since 2003. I'm also member of local LETS as well as part of the Structural Poverty Group in Christchurch. Besides setting up complementary local trading systems I also believe that education is crucial. I'm looking forward to participate in this global classroom and learn more how I can become a better educator here back home.
